Red Bean Monday

RED BEAN MONDAYS is a Louisiana tradition that goes back way before the washing machine. Mondays were laundry day which was an all-day endeavor. So leftover hambone from Sunday’s dinner was allowed to slow cook with red kidney beans on low fire for most of the day. Combined with various spices and ingredients it became a staple dish in Louisiana.
